Why we're moving to Clifton

When we started looking for a site to build a new office we had certain requirements:

  • To find a site within the boundaries of Nottingham City Council
  • To be part of a community rather than an industrial park
  • To be able to build new homes as well as a new head office
  • To find a space big enough to bring together all Nottingham-based colleagues
  • To develop buildings with a high environmental performance
  • To find somewhere with good transport links.

The Farnborough Road site on the old South Nottingham College is perfect for our requirements. It’s a short walk from Clifton’s main shopping centre, which has a range of shops and cafes.

When we’ll move to Clifton

We plan to move in towards the end of 2024. We’ll share more information on dates as the build project continues.

The supported housing homes will be completed first, followed by our office, with the ILOP scheme being the last to be completed.

This approach allows us to limit disruption to things like parking and onsite safety.

Plans for building work

The development has been designed so it doesn’t compromise the countryside views.

The two and three-storey buildings have been designed so you can see over them to the fields and landscape beyond. We’re keeping much of the green space around what was formerly on the site.

GEDA Construction are the builders for the new development. We’ve worked with them on various residential developments over the last ten years, and we’re confident that they’ll do a great job.

They are considerate contractors who work hard to make a positive difference in the communities they work in. They also build good quality homes.

Their working hours will be 7am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. They may have to work the occasional Saturday.

Welcoming visitors

We will have an informal welcome point with seating, and rooms for private conversations if necessary.

There will be car parking for visitors and good transport links from Nottingham City Centre.

View our office locations if you also need to visit one of our other offices.

Travelling to the Clifton development

The site will have 185 car parking spaces and a proportion of these will be allocated to visitors.

We will be providing electric car charging points throughout the site for residents, visitors and colleagues.

Bus and tram stops are located a short walk away from the site. Take a look at the timetables for local transport services below:

We'll also be providing secure cycle parks where you can lock your bike during your visit.

We’ll also share more information as we get closer to completing the development.

Site information and sports facilities

We’re looking into how residents will be able to use the onsite gym. As soon as we’ve established the best approach for this we’ll update this page.

The sports facilities, including the football pitches, changing rooms and other facilities are managed by FSM. Email cfc@fsmcentres.co.uk or call them on 0800 228 9642 to find out more about their services.

The site will remain open for residents and sports events at all times. But the offices will only be open during office hours on Monday to Friday.

We'll be hosting a community event for people to talk to us about the new development. Once we've confirmed the date and venue we will update this page. Sign up for our email newsletter to be one of the first to know about the event.

Environmental impact

We’re committed to making the whole development gas-free and energy efficient. We’re doing this in various ways, including:

  • Incorporating heat pump systems
  • Ensuring carbon neutral materials are used wherever possible.

The office will be built to Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) standards.

This means it will be designed using science-based systems that support high levels of sustainability and environmental performance.

Job vacancies with NCHA

We have job vacancies across the East Midlands. NCHA is a fantastic place to work with great employee benefits.

If you’re looking for a new job sign up for our email newsletter. You’ll be sent information on job vacancies and how the development is progressing.

Independent living for older people

We are building 50 one and two-bed apartments for people aged 55 and over at Clifton. It will be a three-storey building with 12 two bed apartments and 38 one bed apartments, each fitted with a wet room.

The communal facilities will include a garden, lounges, kitchen and a snug. We’ll also be incorporating plenty of storage facilities for mobility scooters, and the building will be fully accessible.

These new apartments have been designed to enable our residents to live independently for longer. They will be energy efficient to ensure low running costs, and fitted with support aids from Invisible Creations to support health and wellbeing.

Based on the current plans these apartments are due to be completed by the end of 2024. If you’re interested in renting one of these apartments please let us know by completing our online enquiry form. We’ll be in touch when we have further information to share.
