Bereavement and grief

Grieving is a natural and normal process. It’s not an illness, although it can make you feel ill. It won’t last forever, although there may be times when it seems like it will. There’s no right way to grieve, and we each react in our own way.

Cruse Bereavement can provide emotional support to help you through the more difficult days. The National Bereavement Service can advise on practical, emotional and legal support. For specialist support with child loss, contact Child Bereavement UK.

If you need some support with your mental health, try Togetherall. NCHA has partnered with Togetherall to give customers (aged 16 and over) access to a safe online space where people can ask questions and support each other with mental health concerns. Read the Togetherall privacy policy to understand what they do with your data.

Some councils have schemes to provide local support services.
