Welcoming first residents at Clifton

A fresh milestone for the large development

It was a significant milestone at our new development at Clifton as we welcomed our first residents. Couple Barbara and Roy are the first people to get their keys, at the nearly completed scheme off Farnborough Road.

Their new home, a purpose-built bungalow, is part of a large suite of homes, designed exclusively for older people aged 55 and over. Six one-bedroom bungalows and 50 one and two-bedroom flats provide high-quality, energy efficient, accessible housing that allows older residents to live independently in comfort and style.

The development, named Farnborough Court, incorporates communal spaces designed to encourage interaction among residents. The design of the scheme prioritises accessibility, sustainability, and a sense of community. It offers a safe and welcoming environment, demonstrating our commitment to creating homes that meet the needs of residents at every stage of life.

A new community for Clifton

This moment celebrates not only the completion of these new homes but also the beginning of a vibrant new community in Clifton. The couple, shared their excitement, commenting on the thoughtful design features, including level access, energy-efficient heating, and private outdoor space. “We’re thrilled to be the first to move in. Everything has been carefully considered to make life easier for us as we grow older.”

Guy Stovold, Assistant Director - Homes and Wellbeing expressed his pride in the development and said: “Seeing the first couple move in is a wonderful moment for us. This development represents our vision to provide homes that truly support independent living, while fostering a strong sense of belonging. We’re excited to see the community grow here in Clifton.”

We’re looking forward to the final phase of the development being completed, with more homes due to welcome residents in the coming weeks.
