Farnborough Court is open!
Our latest older persons development
Our new state-of-the-art housing development for older people is complete, and residents have started to move in. NCHA, in partnership with GEDA Construction and Pelham, is proud to announce the completion and official handover of Farnborough Court.
The three-storey building, tailored for the over-55 community in Clifton, forms part of the wider regeneration of the former South Nottingham College site along Farnborough Road. The development comprises 50 one and two-bed self-contained flats and six one-bed bungalows. Each has a wet room, a kitchen and a lounge/diner.
Excellent communal facilities
The building is set within the grounds of a new mixed-use community, with excellent communal facilities and landscaped gardens designed specifically for people aged 55 and over.
All homes have been thoughtfully designed to promote independent living while ensuring maximum comfort and accessibility. The homes have been built on a gas-free site to an impressive energy rating of ‘B’. Heating and hot water are provided by efficient air source heat pumps, while solar-generated electricity, green living roofs, and EV charging points.
The scheme contributes to NCHA‘s Strategic Partnership with Homes England, to deliver new, affordable homes across the East Midlands.
Supporting local need
The scheme has been designed and built, to specifications from Nottingham City Council. As a result, 95% of the new occupants are from the surrounding Clifton area, helping to free up larger family accommodation for bigger households in need.
Creating purpose-built accommodation to help people live independently in their own homes for longer is part of our long-term plan. Find out more in Our plan for Wellbeing in Retirement.
