New corporate plan for NCAC

Did you know that NCHA manages 24 different almshouses across the East Midlands?

Almshouses are the oldest form of social housing and have an important role to play in providing homes for people on low incomes. They are typically funded by a charity, sometimes from a donation made by a family or religious group.

NCHA Board, acting as Group Corporate Trustees, have recently approved the Nottingham Community Almshouse Charity (NCAC) Corporate Plan for 2025 – 2030.

The Corporate Plan details the challenges NCAC faces as a small charity working in often historic homes, and the work underway to manage these, alongside our guiding principles for how we will deliver on the planned strategic actions.

NCAC has been allocated £280k of the NCHA’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund grant to start a retrofit programme to improve the thermal comfort for homes below an EPC level C. NCAC will match fund this grant and has a new target of 37 homes to be upgraded by 2030.

This is great news for the customers living in these almshouses as they should benefit from warmer homes and lower energy bills.
