Affordable energy efficient homes for Sileby

We have officially opened 55 new affordable homes, with great views of Soar Valley on Homefield Road in Sileby. This new scheme, on the outskirts of the town, is helping to house local people in homes for affordable rent and shared ownership.

The new homes cater for everyone, with a good variety of housing types from one- bed maisonettes, two-bed bungalows and two, three and four-bed houses. Thanks to the shared ownership scheme, they have also supported local people to take their first step onto the property ladder.

They’ve proven to be very popular, and new residents have already moved into all except the last six remaining shared ownership homes for sale.

We are committed to developing environmentally sustainable homes and communities. These new homes have been built by Owl Partnerships and designed by RG+P architects to an energy rating of ‘A’, making them cheaper to run and reducing carbon emissions.

At the official opening, Fran Cropper, Development and New Business Manager at NCHA said: “We are delighted to see these quality new homes complete within Charnwood borough. It’s an attractive scheme and provides a superb opportunity for people to be part of a fantastic and thriving local community. This is what NCHA is about; people, communities and ambition.”

The development, costing around £11.5m, was funded by NCHA and Homes England. The homes have contributed towards NCHA’s Strategic Partnership 2021-2026 with Homes England to deliver new, affordable homes across the East Midlands.

Gareth Wilkes, Construction Director at Owl Partnerships said “We are thrilled to have completed this new affordable development in Sileby, and would like to thank everyone involved. We are committed to creating inclusive and sustainable communities where everyone has access to safe and affordable housing and are proud to have played a role in making that a reality for many individuals and families in Sileby.”
