Meet David Langhorne
Welcome to David Langhorne, our new Director of Asset Management.
He’ll be leading a new directorate that’s dedicated to looking after our 10,000 plus homes. Asset management is all about our homes and how we look after them, and David’s Property Services team will ensure they’re safe and comfortable for our customers.
In-house responsive repairs
David’s joining us at an exciting time. On 8 April 2024 our responsive repairs contract with Fortem will end, and our in-house teams will be doing the repairs themselves. With almost 20 years in housing, David got plenty of experience to lead the move.
He explains: “I’ve worked in housing for most of my career, so I’m really excited to be working with NCHA customers and finding out how we can improve the way we look after their homes.
"We’ve got a busy few months ahead but we’re in a great position to make our new responsive repairs service a success.
“Our teams are already busy at work preparing for the changeover. We're setting up new processes, systems and resources. We’ve sorted out vehicles, materials and new technology, and we’re busy recruiting new colleagues to join our team.”
Take a look at our job vacancies page if that’s something you’re interested in.
We’ve made a few temporary changes to our repairs service, while we prepare for the changeover. Full details are available on our website.
Creating a service to be proud of
We’ve got a long history of delivering property services at NCHA. Our department celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, so we know we’ve got the skills and the experience to deliver responsive repairs using our own in-house experts.
Thank you to those customers who completed our recent repairs survey. The responses are really helping us to plan out our new service.
We’re excited about the change, and confident that you’ll see some real improvements in our service this year.
