Flood support and guidance
As part of our commitment to keeping our customers safe, we’ve created some resources to help protect you, your home and your possessions against flood risk.
Climate change means that flooding will most likely become more severe and unpredictable across the UK in the future. We want you to be prepared and have all the support you need so you know what to do before, during and after flooding.
Read our new flood resources and booklet for key useful contacts, advice and guidance to help you prevent, prepare for and respond to flooding in your home and local area.
It’s important to remember that you don’t need to live near a river or a stream for your home to be at risk of flooding.
Flooding can be caused by various factors, such as blocked drains or heavy rain that falls over a short time period. Your home may also be at risk if flooding has happened before in your area, or if your area is shown to be at risk on a flood map.
Check your risk level by entering your postcode on the government website.
