The results are in!

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) sets the standards which as a landlord, we must be seen to be delivering. Earlier this year they inspected NCHA – for the first time since 2020.

The inspectors looked at three key areas of our business, and we’ve been awarded gradings for each one based on their findings. Those results were published today, 24 July 2024.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve retained our V1 and G1 ratings – these are the top scores available for viability and governance. What this means is that the inspectors have confidence in our ability to meet our financial obligations, and that they see our governance as strong and robust.

A new consumer standard

And the good news doesn’t stop there: we’ve also been awarded a C1 rating. This is the highest score available for the new consumer standard.

Commenting on the inspection results, Paul Moat, NCHA’s Chief Executive, said: “It’s the first time we’ve been graded on the consumer standard, and I’m incredibly proud of the fact that the inspectors have seen what I see when I talk to colleagues around the business. This is recognition of the way we work at NCHA, putting our customers at the heart of what we do.

“And of course it’s a big achievement to have retained our G1 and V1 ratings. There has been economic uncertainty in recent years, with high inflation and difficult trading conditions for housing developers. It’s imperative for us to maintain our high ratings and reassure investors that NCHA is built on strong foundations.

“We’re not complacent: alongside the praise, an inspection of this nature provides sound suggestions for ongoing improvement. We’ll be taking those on board and working to ensure we can deliver great services to our customers for generations to come.”
