Season’s greetings
Paul Moat, Chief Executive, NCHA
As we approach the end of 2023, I’ve been reflecting on our year at NCHA.
In April, we celebrated our 50th anniversary with friends, colleagues and customers, both past and present. We hosted an exhibition at the Contemporary in Nottingham, which was accompanied by an anniversary film and book. You can read some of the stories from our history on our website.
In the same month many colleagues from across NCHA fundraised for the homelessness charity Crisis. The final total raised was over £5,000, which will have made a big impact.
In October, we introduced our first ever Better Lives Awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of colleagues and customers who’ve helped us reach our milestone year. Have a look at our 10 incredible award winners.
These are just some of the many celebratory moments we enjoyed in 2023. But, like many other housing organisations, we’ve faced some difficulties. Due to a variety of pressures, our repairs service isn’t where we’d like it to be, and we recognise that’s had a big impact on many of our customers.
Looking towards the future
2024 will be a big year for us.
There’s been lots of progress at our new development on Farnborough Road in Clifton. And in autumn 2024, we hope to be moving into our new workspace there, Clifton Place. On the same development some of our customers who need a little extra support will be moving into Farnborough Court and Malone Terrace. We’re excited to form a new community and establish ourselves in the area. Find out more about our Clifton development on our website.
Our other big news for next year is the decision to bring our responsive repairs service in-house from April 2024. This is a really exciting milestone, and thanks to the expertise we already have in the business, we’re in a great position to make a success of this transition. We’re looking forward to delivering an improved repairs service to our customers from April 8 2024.
And finally…
Season’s greetings to you all, and I wish you all the best for 2024.
