Meet Di

Diane Morton has been crowned NCHA’s ‘person of the year’ following a company-wide vote at this year’s Better Lives Awards.

A support worker at our Derbyshire Wish service, Di is instrumental in supporting people fleeing abusing relationships and helping them to create a new life, free from fear.

Here’s just a few things that people had to say about Di:

Laura Graney, manager at Derbyshire Wish:

“Diane works tirelessly in advocating and fighting for the people she supports. She’ll take on any challenge, undaunted by any difficulty or complication and gives it her absolute all, always. She is a paragon of strength for her survivors, and they have never, ever stopped being her top priority.

"Di, you are our hero!”

Service user:

“She’s checked in since I’ve moved in. She’s just sorted out my housing out for me to get on the list to move. She’s pretty much done everything, that I should have done but I couldn’t do.”

‘Truly humbled’

Diane had this to say:

“I am truly humbled to have been voted NCHA Person of the year.  Many, many thanks to all colleagues who voted for me. I feel very honoured. However more than any personal accolade, this award recognises the commitment of the Derbyshire Wish team and the support we provide to all survivors of domestic abuse.”
