What is an independent living scheme?

Our independent living schemes are designed to offer the perfect balance of support and independence for people aged 55 and over. We want to ensure our residents have the freedom to live their life to the full.

As we age, it becomes even more important that our homes are a place where we feel safe and secure. This is why we offer affordable housing for independent living, with services to support ageing communities.

We have 13 schemes spread across the East Midlands and they all vary in size. All our properties have their own front door, kitchen and bathroom, so residents can continue to live independently and have the freedom to come and go as they please.

The main advantage of independent living accommodation is that customers have help at hand if they need it. For example we provide:

• A 24-hour Customer Wellbeing service, to give our customers extra peace of mind. If they fall, become unwell, or need urgent assistance, help is available.
• A scheme manager who gives advice to customers, ensures that communal areas are clean, and arranges maintenance and repairs. 
• Communal areas where customers can meet together for social events to combat loneliness and anxiety.
