Supporting 16-17 year olds

Congratulations to Lauren Earle and Kirsty Youngs, our first Ofsted registered managers.

They head up our support services for young people (Branching Out) and domestic abuse survivors (Umuada and Derbyshire Wish).

New regulations from the government state that any support service housing 16-17 year olds must be registered with Ofsted, to make sure the homes meet their needs and keep them safe.

Registered to support

Getting the registration was a thorough process, but essential to our services. Lauren explains:

“It’s really important to us that we can continue to deliver these services. We’re really proud of the support we offer to vulnerable young people and those escaping abusive relationships, and we don’t want to have to turn anyone away.

“This registration means that we can continue to support young adults who need our help, and offer life changing services.”

Thank you to Kirsty, Lauren and their teams for the time and dedication they put into securing this registration, as well as the contributing hard work from so many other departments behind the scenes.
